Friday Weigh In

Previous weight: 261.5
This week's weight: 261.5
No change...

The 260's are seriously taunting me and sick of it!!

That being said, it's completely my fault and I know exactly what the problem is.

I've been really struggling with my weight loss in the past few months. I do really well during the week, then the weekend comes and I go completely off track and I spend the following week working my butt off so I don't have a gain on the scale at the next weigh in. I really, REALLY to stop this cycle. I think if I allow myself a treat or a meal out during the weekend I won't feel like I need to binge on junk or eat out multiple times.

I want to achieve my may goals and at this rate, it's not going to happen. I am determined to reach the 250's and never see the 260's again. On tuesday my mom is coming to visit for 10 days. We're also going away for the entire weekend while she's here. I always gain weight while she's here (that's a whole other blog post that I'll write another time). I only see my parents about twice a year so I'm pretty excited to see her. There will be a lot more dinners out, tempting treats and food in general... but I'm not letting this visit sabotage my diet like it normally does. My goal for those 10 days is to actually lose weight... even if it's just one pound i'll be happy.

Anyway, today is my day off and it's supposed to be beautiful out. I'll  be heading out shortly to run some errands, buy some canvas for a new painting and then spend some time at the park across the street :)

Hope everyone has a great friday!

  1. Congrats on your weight! I know you didn't lose- but hey, you didn't gain and I think that's great too!
Weekends are always terrible. And then with visitors I'm sure it is even harder to stay on track. Maybe while your mom is here you can still get some workouts in to counter the foods!
You should still enjoy seeing your mom since you don't get to see her a lot. Maybe every other day eat healthy/not as healthy/healthy/not as healthy. lol. Then you get some indulgences while she's here, but also somewhat on track.
Hope you enjoy the great weather today! I hope you post pics of your new painting! You're so talented.

  2. Thanks, and yes at least it's not a gain!
I will definitely enjoy my visit with my mom, I can't wait to see her! Balance is definitely key so if we have a bad day eating I'll try and focus on eating really well the next day :)
I also don't want to fall behind in my running training so hopefully that will help.

  3. I think you are right in that you should allow yourself a treat. Restricting anything usually ends up backfiring. If you want dessert when you go out, try splitting it with someone or bring half home for later :)

    1. Thanks!
You're blog name caught my attention.. I eat pb and oatmeal (with some flax) for breakfast quite often :)

  4. I have the toughest time with weekends too. :/ What you posted is exactly what I'm going through. I'm being haunted by the same numbers every week. I'm ready for the scale to move DOWN. It's so frustrating and sometimes I just want to give up because it never seems like it's going to go in my favor. :(

    1. It's so tough to not give up! The only thing that keeps me going is that I've lost weight before and I know I can do it again :)

  5. I am a big believer and not restricting any foods. I never order fries anymore, but I have a couple when someone else (i.e. my husband) orders them. I am satisfied that I had a few, but also won't eat the whole plateful because they belong to someone else! I also try to follow the 50% solution as much as possible when I'm eating out - eating only 50% of what's on my plate. Then pausing for a few minutes and then deciding if I really need that other half. If I feel like I do, I eat 50% of that half. And so on... Just one fun trick!

    1. I'm coming to realize that restricting foods is not the way to go. I think the 50% rule is a great idea and I'm going to try and do that while my mom is here, thanks! :)

I love comments!
